Molecular Department (Aide / Technician / Technologist / Scientist) Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for entry level and experienced individuals with strong work tenure. Employee will support the delivery of patient care by performing molecular based testing which is utilized in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Qualifications Minimum requirement Bachelor's degree in Biology related scientific field Laboratory Certification Optional (ASCP or NCA or AMT) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Performs laboratory testing, including the pre-analytical phase in accordance with standard operating procedures and accreditation guidelines to support the delivery of patient care. Conducts established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluate the results of quality control and implements corrective action according to established protocols to ensure the accuracy and quality of patient testing. Demonstrates quality customer service through positive interaction which meets the needs of co-workers, clients and vendors. Participates in the validation of laboratory methods and procedures. Adheres to all regulatory, institutional, and departmental policies to ensure laboratory accreditation. Adheres to all regulatory and laboratory safety policies (OSHA) to provide a safe and secure environment for fellow employees. Perform departmental administrative tasks as needed. Keep work area clean. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Follow Standard Operating Procedures and documentation practices 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred Follow Standard Operating Procedures and documentation practices Knowledge of GCP Knowledgeable of HIPPA guidelines Working experience with laboratory information systems Ability to ambulate throughout the lab Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel etc.) Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse patient population and all levels of personnel. TECHNICAL SKILLS Nucleic Acid Extraction preferred Sterile Technique required PCR/RT PCR experience preferred Sanger and NGS experience is a plus Bioinformatics experience is a plus Why Work Here?
