Location: Tinley Park, Illinois - In Person/Onsite

Schedule: Part Time

As an academic/vocational advisor, you will:

  • Help our clients with their schoolwork, such as math, English, essays, and exams.
  • Assist our clients with their career development, such as college or job applications, resumes, interviews, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with our clinical team to ensure that our clients are making progress in both their personal and professional lives.     The Opportunity:

    • Contribute to a high-performing culture, focused on partnering with clients as we inspire and empower change
    • Assist Program Manager in the design, implementation, and management of the academic & vocational program, running sessions in a group and individual format, employing goal-oriented tasks for clients with substance abuse and clients struggling with a dual diagnosis (if applicable)
    • Adhere to all aspects of the clinical program's policies and procedures to ensure quality performance and assist the Program Manager in any quality improvements that may be necessary
    • Provide academic & vocational services, including delivery of assessments (when appropriate), building goals and measurable objectives, and coordinate academic, vocational and recreational services with families as well as ensure timely documentation of services
    • Participate in weekly clinical team meetings discussing treatment formulation, progress, regress and/or failure; contribute to discharge planning, discharge summaries, follow-up care and liaison communication

      Who You Are

      Must Have Qualifications
      • Required
        • At least 1 year of teaching / tutoring experience or academic/career coach/academic advisor/vocational advisor experience (teaching license a plus, but not required!)
        • Understanding of Social emotional learning
        • Understanding of MH care presentations / field
        • Preferred
          • Strong experience with Math and English Experience with special education, learning differences, familiarity with 504s/IEPs
