This position is responsible to promptly and accurately set up / change over, start-up, and monitor processes of injection molding process. Continuous improvement of production yield and efficiency by following standard set-up sheets, implementing and monitoring process controls, troubleshooting, reducing rework/scrap. The Set-Up Technician will work to maintain efficient runs of quality parts during production runs and act as a technical leader providing guidance and assistance to other operators and inspectors during the night shift.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Set-Up Technician:Timely and accurate installation and removal of injection molds and tooling changeover, following quality / safety procedures and work instructions.Set up and adjust assembly equipment, auxiliary equipment, and robots.Inspect, clean, finish, and lubricate molds and mold parts.Responsible to stop molding process due to quality concerns.Troubleshoot molding problems, such as flash, short shots and dimensional issues.Material handling, monitoring of auxiliary equipment, and minor maintenance required.Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts to give work assignments and expectations to achieve production requirements and promote shift interaction and awareness.Responsible for part quality associated to the set-up and processing variables.Achieve required efficiency and throughput on automated lines.Measure and record data associated with operating equipment.Quality & Safety:Accountability for following all quality, GMP, and SOP guidelines.Follows all current work instruction and adherence to ITW quality standards and requirement.Understand production quality issues and take appropriate corrective action as well as preventive measures.Perform quality data collection.Perform and maintain good housekeeping.Clean production equipment and work area.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalent technical training.Production maintenance and automation experience (i.e. robotics, HMI screens, automated assembly equipment).At least 2 years of technical experience with plastic injection molding preferred, along with hands-on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and troubleshooting skills for electric injection machines and auxiliary equipment.Strong mechanical aptitude (hand tools, math, reasoning, 100% hands-on position).Proficient in Computers.Some technical training preferable.Experience in the plastics industry operating equipment preferred.Be capable of running your own operation, responsibility for all reporting (parts completion reports, downtime reports, etc.)Self-starter and self-motivated with little direct supervision.Ability to work in a team environmentPractical attitude and ability to learn new skills.Physical/Environmental RequirementKnowledge to record waste and scrap and make report for improvements.Must be able to work weekends and mandatory OT as needed.Frequently lifting to 50lbs. is required.Walking, standing and bending.SHIFT / HOURS: 3rd Shift (12am 8am); 40 Hours Weekly (Full-time)All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.ITW is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
