Job Description Are you a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon
looking for a flexible locum opportunity with weekend call
coverage? Join a leading hospital-based surgical team in Lansing,
MI and provide high-level cardiac and thoracic care in a
well-supported, Level I Trauma environment. Location: Lansing,
Michigan Michigan’s capital city offers a vibrant downtown,
cultural attractions, beautiful parks, and easy access to major
Midwest cities Position Overview Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery
Position Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: May 1, 2026 (or ASAP)
Setting: Hospital-Based Trauma Level: Level I EMR: Epic Patient
Population: Adult Average Volume: ~1 case per weekend Schedule &
Call Preferred Coverage: Friday Evening – Monday Morning Call
Requirement: Yes (24-hour call) Additional Coverage: 1 week of call
per month (open to options) Weekend Coverage Required Surgical
Capabilities Work with: 2 Dedicated CV Surgery ORs (Daytime Access)
Advanced surgical support and infrastructure Required Procedures:
Adult Cardiac Surgery General Thoracic Surgery CABG Heart Valve
Repair/Replacement Tube Thoracostomy Pericardial Window Thoracotomy
(Lung Biopsy, Resection, Pneumonectomy) Thoracotomy Decortication
Mediastinal Surgery ? Required Qualifications Board Certified in
Cardiothoracic Surgery Active Michigan License (or willing to
obtain) ?? BLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications NPDB Self-Query (within
30 days) ?? Clean malpractice and license history (highly
preferred) ?? Travel & Expenses Covered Flight Hotel Rental Car or
IRS Mileage Malpractice Coverage ? Credentialing Timeframe
