Behavioral Health Tech Location: Harvey, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $896 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician Profession: Behavioral Health Technician Specialty: Behavioral Health Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: CPI, BLS Must-Have: Locked unit experience required Experience with vital signs, 4-point restraints, and de-escalation techniques required Experience leading group therapy preferred All patients are 18 years old and up Description: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health. 36 or 48 hours available. Experience in a locked unit is essential. Candidates should possess skills in managing vital signs and applying 4-point restraints. Proficiency in de-escalation techniques is required. Experience with group therapy facilitation is preferred. The patient demographic includes adults aged 18 and over. No on-call or float responsibilities are required. CPR certification is mandatory. This position involves working with adults experiencing acute mental health crises. The focus will be on stabilization and safety in a 24-hour care setting. Candidates must be prepared to implement behavior management techniques and therapeutic communication skills. Familiarity with inpatient care, crisis intervention, and isolation procedures is necessary. Understanding of medication side effects, as well as managing suicidal behaviors, is crucial. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team will be part of the role. Candidates should be ready to assist with patient needs, including ambulation and feeding. Observation and communication skills will be essential in this position. Behavior management and de-escalation are key components of daily responsibilities.
