Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum 18 months of experience required, with solid neuro
experience preferred. License: Must have a valid state license in
hand prior to start. Certifications: Current certifications in
ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required. Must-Have: Experience with
Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Insulin, Post Heart Cath, and Post
Pace-maker procedures. Description: This position involves working
in a mixed acuity unit focusing on both medical-surgical and
progressive levels of care. The unit provides care for oncology,
stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary patients. The
patient ratio is 1:5-6 for medical-surgical patients and 1:3-4 for
PCU-level patients. Candidates will administer various drips such
as cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin. The role includes caring for
unstable strokes and patients on BiPap. Requirements include
accessing and managing ports, interpreting dysrhythmias, and
administering blood products. Experience with Central line
care/management and telemetry monitoring is necessary. Candidates
will float within the facility as required. The work environment is
dynamic and offers interdisciplinary support from various
healthcare services. Applicants must be willing to work 2 out of 3
major holidays. Local candidates are not accepted for this role.
