Number of beds on unit: 19 beds
Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit):Adult/acute mental illness such as depression, suicidal, psychosis/Locked unit/Short term hospitalization
Nurse to Patient ratio: 5:1
Department culture and resources: Collaborative
Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: De-escalation, holistic care focus and self-help education The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution.
