Senior Business Development Manager - Aerospace / Military
Reporting to the OEM Business Unit Director of Business Development at our Tinley Park, Illinois, World Headquarters, the Senior Business Development Manager will collaborate with Business Development peers, Marketing, Sales, Product Managers, Engineering, and R&D to expand our channels and fill critical customer needs. You will analyze target markets, identify needs and opportunities, create impactful marketing plans, and coordinate new initiatives in our fast-paced cross-functional environment. You will also determine and report on key business metrics to monitor and adjust plans to ensure top line and bottom line growth. As you conduct voice of the customer and competitive analysis, you will identify and prioritize opportunities for growth in your target market and capture VOC into new products and technologies. Inspire your teams to create strategic messages and selling points that will clearly articulate our value proposition and differentiators for customers. You will educate and enable regional teams to execute plans on a global scale. Presentations to external and internal senior management, along with attending industry functions, such as association events and conferences, will provide feedback and information on market and creative trends to share with our teams. Additional projects, such as specific analysis involved with integrating a merger or acquisition, will provide plenty of variety to your days.For this role, we are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager with expertise in the aerospace / military marketplace. The ideal candidate will live in the Chicago area, but we are open to considering great candidates who may base from a home office, provided they live near major airports and are willing to travel frequently to Chicago and to customer and partner locations as needed.Our ideal Senior Business Development Manager will have ten (10) or more years of relevant sales, marketing, and/or business development experience. You will have robust leadership, interpersonal, and collaborative skills, along with a track record of success in developing and implementing effective go-to-market plans through channels and alliances. Polished presentation skills, the courage to master challenges, humility, and a desire for continual learning will be essential characteristics.
