JOB SUMMARY:
The Aquatic Manager reports to the Aquatics Supervisor or Vice
President of Operations and is responsible for ensuring the smooth
functioning, safety, and quality of service at the assigned
property. This role involves supervising the operations of the
pools, including planning, coordinating, scheduling, supporting,
and evaluating various programs related to the aquatics area within
the facility. The Supervisor is expected to work an average of
20-25 hours per week and will include weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the smooth
operation of pool facilities under the general supervision of the
Area Manager. This includes enforcing policies and procedures,
managing and training personnel, and overseeing all swimming pool
operations such as first aid, rotations, staff scheduling, public
relations, janitorial duties, and limited pool maintenance,
including cleaning. Excellent organizational, communication, and
public relations skills are necessary for this position. The
Supervisor is a supervisory role that requires working weekdays,
weekends, and holidays. They, along with their leadership team, are
responsible for fostering a positive, engaging, and supportive work
environment for all employees, clients, and users of the aquatic
facility. This position will be directly responsible for the
Assistant Aquatic Manager/Supervisors, Head Guard/Swim Lesson
Supervisor, Lifeguards/Swim Instructors, and other CELTS staff such
as Pool operations, cashiers, aides, etc. The Aquatic Supervisor is
the day-to-day contact for all official CELTS programs, services,
rentals, etc., within the facility. This includes proficiency
within all CELTS internal operating systems to achieve computerized
rentals, registrations, cash register systems, etc.
CELTS Goal: To instill a lifelong relationship with the water by
providing high-quality, developmentally sound aquatic programs and
services in a fun and safe environment, emphasizing outstanding
customer service.
OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure constant and consistent high-quality pool operations. This
includes but is not limited to chemical checks, equipment reviews,
safety checks, product monitoring/ordering, etc
Ensure any mechanical needs are observed, reported, and resolved in
a timely and documented manner.
Ensure all aquatic operations are maintained within all national,
local, and CELTS required ranges.
Maintain all chemical tracking properly and as ensure proper
storage of all chemicals
Ensure all financial components are managed fully including in
CELTS proprietary systems, etc.
Maintain active communication with all company systems (Google
Workspace, Paycor, Rescue Ready Audits, Rockstar, etc)
Ensure all programs, classes, and services are represented
accurately and within all locations required (program guides,
flyers, website, in print, social media, etc.).
Ensure hourly employees work no more than 40 hours per week
Ensure all employee hours, days, & time worked are properly
recorded in the Time Tracker System
Have all timecard approvals completed by 10 AM on Monday each
week.
SAFETY AND SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the company's mission to "Prevent Death By stopping
accidental drowning" by prioritizing safety at all times. This
applies not only to the Aquatic Manager but to the entire team.
Provide continuous support for safety training and evaluation,
including regular in-service training, safety audits and reports,
and reviewing emergency action plans.
Ensure that all safety equipment, signage, rescue, and first aid
items are fully stocked, in good working condition, and meet the
safety expectations of the staff and customers.
Create and implement a safety training program that includes
routine in-services, safety reviews, and other relevant materials
for all CELTS team members, tracked and documented on a daily,
weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Maintain active and collaborative communication with each facility
client, focusing on engagement and goal-oriented partnerships.
Ensuring facility is secure at closing by checking all doors and
gates before exiting the facility
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all CELTS employees are fully aware, educated, and trained
to achieve their primary objective of safety and service and
setting a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow
Ensure all staff have a clear understanding of the scheduling
process (time tracker, subs, shift coverage, etc) and that the
aquatic facility is staffed as appropriate every day.
Create and maintain a positive and engaging staff work environment.
This includes but is not limited to a clean and inspiring staff
"Office" communication pathways, active feedback, and open dialogue
with staff members while enforcing staff policies and rules.
Ensure that the team organizational structure is clear for each
staff member, their reporting structure, and their individual and
that the team responsibilities are aligned.
Ensuring that the front-line staff is well-versed and coached with
the ability to promote upcoming events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Considerable knowledge in planning, organizing, and implementing
aquatics programs.
Working knowledge of swimming pool filters, mechanical systems, and
the use of chemicals for swimming pool and water chemistry.
Ability to work with the public and possess excellent public
relations skills.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to
create effective working relationships with employees and the
public.
Ability to effectively lead, supervise, and train employees and
evaluate assigned personnel.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the Spanish language
(preferred)
Proven ability of excellent judgment and decision-making skills
Demonstrated proficiency in swimming
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or GED
500 hours of Lifeguarding experience, including
100 hours of supervisory aquatics experience or
one or more advanced-level aquatics instructor certifications.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:
Possess or obtain within 30 days of Hire/Promotion and maintain
after that a current
Pool Operator's Permit (CPO/AFO)
Lifeguard W/CPR/AED Professional Rescuer and First
All of the above are preferred or requirements of employment and
are expected to be maintained and current at all times. CELTS may
reimburse at company discretion.
