Job Description

The Program Manager will be based at either of our automotive manufacturing facilities located in Lakeville, CT. or Tinley Park, IL. As a key member of our divisional Engineering team, this role leads customer (internal and external) projects by planning and implementing engineering processes, to drive successful completion of assigned projects within budget and deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: may include some of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage and lead overall project by applying the APQP process with a cross functional team.
  • Address any project issues or concerns with the Sales team as they arise, provide technical support to customer as needed.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with cross functional team to verify completion of tasks per timeline.
  • Work with internal and external Engineering resources to review customer / ITW designs for tooling and product functional feasibility and potential improvements, where applicable.
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Prepare new product cost breakdown with the support of operations.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Create detailed budget and controls expenditures within limitation of project budget.
  • Partner with Quality to complete corrective action process related to manufacturing and design.
  • Secure competitive quotes for purchased goods and tooling, source new tools and tracks tool build timing to assure due dates are met for new programs (including customer funded tooling CAPEX).
  • Assist Sales team with data transfers from customers.
  • Act as technical representative for product line, to ensure customer product/application needs are met.
  • Apply ITW Toolbox to assure proper execution of projects from the design to manufacturing.
    • Bachelors Degree from four-year college or university (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology preferred)
    • Minimum of 3 years Engineering work experience
    • Previous work experience in the automotive industry required; Previous experience working directly with Ford highly desired
    • Project Management experience required
    • Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks or CATIA)
    • Previous work experience in the automotive industry required; OEM
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional team

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong customer service orientation and support

      • Understanding of plastic injection molding, tooling and assembly process

        Special Requirements
        • Position requires travel, primarily within assigned region (approx. 15-20%). Must have valid drivers license and good driving record. Must be able to travel internationally, if required.
