Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Process Engineer located on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL . This position will support product build in a dynamic, fast-paced and technically challenging environment in support of Radio Frequency systems, requiring collaboration across functional groups. Manufacturing Engineers thrive in an environment of daily unique challenges and close proximity to products. Partnering with production, successful process / test / industrial engineers lead troubleshooting and ensure excellence in hardware and software. Building a strong professional relationship with other Manufacturing disciplines (Process Engineering, Project Management, Shop Operations, Mission Assurance), strong decision-making skills and a high-level ethical standard is essential. We seek individuals with proven excellence in the following 6 core competencies: a) Takes high levels of Self-accountability and Ownership b) Acts with Speed c) Responds to Challenges with Resilience d) Leads with Courage e) Sets vision for the assigned products f) Builds a High Performing Team This position would include providing process support for the manufacture of the Shop Replaceable Units This position will support aerial, military-grade, or space-grade Electronic Warfare Systems and Subsystems. What you will get to do: Support to Production : Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production technician, Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to meet manufacturing contractual commitment. Investigate, design, and provide solutions to support nonconformance repair procedures. Process Development/Maintenance : Generate and maintain/revise Manufacturing Engineering Process Specifications, Work Instructions, Routers, Tooling/Fixturing and Equipment. Continuous improvement : Review of quality metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, defects. Producibility reviews : Collaborate with design engineering to achieve producibility in new and updated product design. Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors. Basic Qualifications for the Sr. Principal Manufacturing Process Engineer (RF Systems) Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 9 years relevant work experience; OR a Master of Science (MS) degree in a related STEM field with 7 or more years of relevant work experience in equivalent fields. Experience interpreting drawings and specifications with limited assistance. Experience either creating process work instructions, working in a manufacturing environment, and/or working in a design environment with limited assistance. Experience with complex system problem solving. Experience with executive presentations. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. US Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: Active DoD Security Clearance but not required. Experience presenting various levels of management on projects and issues. Project management experience on medium to large scale project. Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. Experience with high temperature furnace processing. Experience with laser welding and leak checking. Experience with manufacturing of Traveling Wave Tube Assemblies (TWT). Experience with electrical troubleshooting tools. Proven excellence with Root Cause Corrective Action methods. Experience in developing/improving manufacturing processes for Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic products and/or equivalent. MPR Primary Level Salary Range: $123,400.00 - $185,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
