Position Title: CNC Set Up Machinist Wage: $25-$32/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:30am-3pm QPS Employment Group is hiring 2nd shift CNC Set Up Machinists for a company in Whitewater, WI. CNC Set Up Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes with live tooling to produce precision components according to blueprints and specifications - Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and inspection instructions to ensure parts meet all dimensional requirements - Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets for optimal performance - Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges - Make offset adjustments as necessary to maintain tight tolerances and ensure consistent product quality - Perform multiple setups throughout the day in a job shop or low-volume production environment - Maintain machines through regular cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance - Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to improve setup efficiency and product flow - Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment CNC Set Up Machinist Requirements: - High school diploma or GED required - Minimum 2 years of CNC setup experience in a manufacturing environment - Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability - Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring equipment - Ability to perform complete machine setups independently, including tooling and program verification - Experience with both CNC mills and lathes preferred - Comfortable working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment - Willingness to work a 4/10 schedule and occasional overtime as needed QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
