Job Description Job Description Unarmed / Armed Security Officer Job Description: We are seeking highly motivated and dependable Unarmed or Armed Officer(s) to join our team. As Security Officer you will be assigned to secure various open posts within the Halo Security Group portfolio. Placement will be based on company needs, officer experience, and officer availability. Security Officers also perform the daily operations of security officers working at assigned locations and sites in accordance with current Post Orders. Ensuring the timely completion of functions such as Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, logs, and patrols. Your Responsibilities (included but not limited to): - Demonstrate professionalism, impeccable attendance, and pay attention to high level of detail. - Consistently check your email, phone, and company applications for vital communication from the office. (Including spam/junk folders). - Complete and submit Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, logs, checkpoints and regular patrols of assigned areas timely and factually. - Monitor premises according to site post orders to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules - Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security - Properly observe, report and de-escalate situations that occur while on duty (i.e. respond to alarms and incidents). - HALO’s proper uniform must be worn when on duty & maintain valid security credentials on hand. - Ensure timely completion of mandatory and optional training programs to maintain proficiency in job duties and adhere to regulatory and company standards. - Properly clock in and out with GPS location turned on to be paid accurately. - Demonstrate excellent customer service skills (i.e. Interact with clients and visitors in a professional manner). Armed Responsibilities includes the above in addition to the following: - Carry and maintain a firearm in accordance with state/local laws and company policy. - Provide security presence in higher-risk environments - Stay current on applicable laws, standards, and best practices for armed security. Preferred Qualifications: - CPR Certified (training available) - College Degree - Previous FCC (Tan Card Holder) - Armed only Work Location: - On-site (trained at a minimum of 3 sites) Unarmed - Required Qualifications: - Valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) - Basic 20-hour Training Certificate - High School Diploma or Equivalent - Valid Driver’s License or State ID - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations - Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility - Pass criminal background check - Meet the essential physical functions of the job, which can include completing foot patrols, walking up and down stairs, sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, etc. - Strong work ethic and commitment to attend work during assigned hours Armed - Required Qualifications: - 230 Card – Certification of Completion of Firearms Training - 40-Armed Training Certificate (includes Basic 20-hour Training Certificate) - Valid Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) - Proof of the last date you've gone to requalify (i.e. shooting percentages) - Valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) - High School Diploma or Equivalent - Valid Driver’s License or State ID - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations - Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility - Pass criminal background check - Meet the essential physical functions of the job, which can include completing foot patrols, walking up and down stairs, sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, etc. - Strong work ethic and commitment to attend work during assigned hours Site Locations: · North: Roger's Park, Lincoln Park, Logan Square, Old Town, Bucktown · South: Roseland, South Deering, Blue Island, Oak Lawn · Southeast: Hyde Park, Bronzeville, South Shore · West: Near West, Bridgeview, West Town, Pilsen, West Loop Company Description HALO specializes in superb service, intelligence and support to a wide variety of clients who demand honesty, integrity and hard work.
