Job Description:

Genesis10 is seeking multiple Commodity Buyers. This role is with a manufacturing company in Oak Brook, IL or Racine, WI. This is a HYBRID, 6-8+ month contract position only requiring 2 days onsite per week.

The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

Compensation: $35.00 -$40.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs
Collaborates with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, components and/or operations and develops supply recommendations
Ensures suppliers can meet forecasted demand
May coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establishing cost for new products
Participate in design and/or technical reviews
Select, recommend and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service

Requirements:
5-12 relevant years of global buying, purchasing or procurement experience
Ideally within one or more of the following areas: Metals, Mechanical Products, Electrical, Chemicals, Product Development, and Marketing services
Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel (to include pivot tables and v-look ups)
Intermediate level of proficiency in SAP
Ability to read engineering drawings tied to the fab and weld commodity
Understand part complexity and factors that drive cost and dictate manufacturing process and supplier selection criteria
Understand manufacturing BoM structures and general knowledge of applicable materials
